The Moneymax Profiles are delivered in Adobe PDF Format -
which requires the freely downloadable Adobe Acrobat Reader.
The Acrobat Reader is available for almost every operating
system in existence, and once you have it installed you will
be able to open PDF files within your browser and by
clicking on a PDF file from within your File Explorer.
If you think you have already installed Acrobat, or are
not sure, try clicking the link below. This will open a page
congratulating you on the success of this test. If you get a
dialog box asking whether to save the file to your hard
drive, then see Installing Acrobat
Reader below.

Your Acrobat Installation

asked questions.
Installing
Acrobat Reader
- Before getting started you must know what
operating system you are running, such as Windows 95.
If you don't know try going to your File Explorer
program and clicking the menu item Help, then About.
- Once you've finished reading these instructions,
click the button at the bottom. This will take you to
the Adobe web site where you can download
Acrobat.
- Once at the Adobe site you will be asked to
"register" to obtain Acrobat - you can optionally
supply your real name and address - although anything
will do.
- Eventually you will be presented with a link to
download Acrobat, click on that link. This will start
the download process of a program.
- You will want to save the program to your hard
drive. (It is important that you remember where you put
it since we will need to run it once the download is
complete.) We suggest putting it in your C:\TEMP
directory. Although you can put it anywhere.
- The file you are downloading is roughly 3
megabytes in size. On a good day this will take about
half an hour on a 28.8 modem.
- Once the download is complete, open your File
Explorer and proceed to the directory where you saved
the file. It will be named something like
AR32E301.EXE
- Double- click that file - this will start the
installation process.
- During install you're fairly safe accepting the
defaults by clicking Yes or OK.
- When it is complete come back to this page and try
the link above to make sure it is installed
correctly.

Commonly
Asked Questions about the Acrobat Reader
- I have Adobe Acrobat installed and the test file
won't come up! What gives?
- Is it possible you have an old version of Acrobat?
Our site requires version 3.0 or higher.
- Why do I need the Adobe Acrobat Reader?
- The Moneymax Profile report is delivered in PDF
format because it is over 12 pages long and contains
graphics. It allows us to present the document in a
precise format that you can save to your hard drive as a
single file, as you would a Word document. Since the
Acrobat Reader is available for nearly every operating
system we don't have an incompatibility issue to deal
with.
- Why not just use Microsoft Word format?
- Despite its overwhelming popularity, there are still
plenty of people who don't own Microsoft Word - or else
have an older version of Word that may not support all
the formatting within a Moneymax Profile. If you're
adamant about this issue, contact
us for a quote on developing a custom version for
your specific needs.
- What is the Acrobat Reader good for? Is it worth
the effort?
- Actually we're surprised you haven't run across the
need to install the Acrobat reader before. The IRS
delivers all their tax forms online in PDF format, and
many stock market sites use PDF files to deliver
prospectuses. It's a very common format wherever a
precisely formatted document is necessary.

Looking
for a return link off this page?
There isn't one. The previous
page opened a new browser so you wouldn't lose your
place. If you look in your task bar you should see
another browser open. If you're done here you can
close this browser and return to the other
one.
